Wright Insurance Brokers was founded in 2012 by insurance industry experts and Wexford natives Tony & Breda Wright under the umbrella of Wright Group Ltd, a leading company in the Irish insurance sector employing over 160 people. Our national headquarters are located in the heart of Wexford town with a service desk also located in Carlow.

 

About the Apprentice programme

We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual who shows the potential to develop into a high performing business professional. This opportunity is a three-year fixed term contract apprentice scheme that provides exposure to all aspects of our business, allowing you to develop your technical expertise as well as professional skills.

While on the programme, in addition to gaining on the job financial experience, you will complete the insurance industry professional qualifications APA and QFA as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Insurance Practice (Apprenticeship) which is Level 8 on the NFQ awarded by IT Sligo.

When you join Wright Insurance Brokers, you will receive a tailored induction and will be assigned a business supervisor and mentor to provide support throughout the scheme.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Acquire new skills in each area relevant to your success in the position
  • Assist the relevant team with the processing of documentation within their areas
  • Follow good practice in ensuring the client’s best interests are served when dealing with clients
  • Learn the key aspects of the Consumer Protection Code and Central Bank Compliance requirements
  • Acquire knowledge on Insurer panels and learn about maintaining key relationships with them
  • Learn about the relevant product offerings within each area
  • Develop relevant IT skills on the systems used in-house
  • Attend the online courses as required and various education days in Dublin or Sligo.
  • Study to ensure the best chance of success for the educational programme.
  • Adhere to the Company’s compliance as outlined in staff handbook and procedures manual
  • Adhere to health & safety policy
  • Effective diary management

Minimum Entry Level Requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Mature students – if over 23 years there are no minimum educational requirements - documented interview required
  • FETAC Level 5 qualification holders*
  • Between 18 and under 23 years – Leaving certificate, minimum of 140 points to include two honours in higher level paper and passes in Maths and English/Irish with specific requirements on grades/levels*
